(Mostly it’s all backed up but the work of today is gone). (Mostly frustrated with myself that I kept on following instructions, I should have been happy to have it up to move stuff over. Support told me to to an NVRAM because the SMC reset didn’t change anything but after that it wouldn’t boot back up at all. I tried different outlets as well as switching cables and usb-c ports. I checked the battery status in the settings and it said: Battery charging: no (even though it was connected). There was a moment where it was still turning on but the battery sign said 0% even though the “lightning sign” as an indicator for charging was on. I have the exact same issue happening today and wish i had read this thread sooner. Apples QC is sorely disappointing in recent years. Especially given how much I am reading of others having this problem. Unfortunately it won't be as seamless if they swap for a new system as a time machine backup (been meaning to get that running again). Fortunately, I back things up (CrashPlan). Now I must sadly make a Genius Bar appointment and waste my time with them. I also used my wife's charger with no joy. I tried rebooting to get it to register right, but it never came back in. If I unplugged, it said 0%, so I plugged it back in. When I got home I managed to get it to boot (sorta). I left it plugged in all day (the battery icon was the only thing showing in the middle of the screen indicating it was plugged in). This morning I came to a powered off system saying the battery had no charge. Got my 15" MBP touchbar in mid November last year.
